Dear Families,
We are very quickly making our way through term four, with only six weeks left to go! I trust that everyone had a wonderful Melbourne Cup day off, and even better if you were lucky enough to have an extra long weekend.
End of Semester Reports
Our teachers spent Monday starting to analyse student learning data and begin writing end of year reports. All reports will be live on Compass for families to access from the last week of the term.
Grade 6 Visit to Arrowsmith
Our 6B students spent the day at the Junior campus on Wednesday. They had a fabulous day helping students in the classrooms, playing sports at playtimes, and selling zooper doopers to all students (and staff) at lunch time. Looking forward to having the 6A and 6C students at the campus over the next two weeks.
Foundation Transition
We have our first transition day tomorrow! We will be welcoming our 2026 Preps to the Arrowsmith campus and having a parent information session. I am looking forward to meeting our future students and families.
Student Placement 2026
We are currently working through the process of creating our 2026 classes. To assist us with this process, we would appreciate it if parents could notify us if their child will NOT be enrolled at Beveridge PS in 2026.
Take care,
Christine Cole

Today a few selected students were chosen to go to the Morning Melodies at the Beveridge Community Centre where we met with lots of different people from the community including many senior citizens. We walked over and were put into groups; the meet and greet group, the waiters, the beverage makers and the servers. The beverage team were most of the boys and it was their first time making beverages, so they learnt something as well. We started welcoming, chatting and serving everyone. The orders started to get off the charts, we had served; black tea, white tea, green tea and coffee. We learnt that you have to be specific and ask questions to make sure they were happy with their order. Like, 'Would you like the tea bag in?, Would you like milk?, How many sugars would you like? We had a group of seniors sing and play the ukulele to many songs while the others were getting seated. We had a few groovy seniors on the dance floor and some students were also getting groovy with them. It was great to see lots of us students have a great time and come out of their shell with singing and dancing to the; Macarena, Nutbush, join the conga line, Sweet Caroline, and even singing our graduation song to the audience. At the end of the day we said goodbye, thankyou and packed the room up. This wasn't just a fun day out, it was a lesson where we had the opportunity to learn how to communicate clearly, prepare, serve, clean, build our confidence in speaking with others who are new to us, and work together as a team.

Today was a great day! We went to the Greater Beveridge Community Centre and connected with the elderly. The day consisted of dancing, singing and socialising. It was a great day that helped boost our confidence and our cross generation communication. We were split into four teams which welcomed everyone in, the order team, which took the order of what drink they wanted, and the serving team which served everyone their drinks and also the team that made the drinks. Overall, it was a great day and taught us many life skills.

On Wednesday the 5th of November, students from 6B had the privilege of visiting the junior school at the Arrowsmith campus; what an incredible day it was! From the moment we arrived, a wave of nostalgia washed over us as we stepped back into our old classrooms and walked the familiar grounds. It felt like returning home and reliving some of our favourite memories from earlier years.
We quickly slipped into the role of leaders and mentors, teaching the younger students some of our favourite brain breaks, reading stories to entire classes, and even helping them learn the Auslan alphabet. It was amazing to see how confident we’ve become. We were the teachers for a day, guiding and supporting the younger students as they learnt new things. The foundation, grade 1, and grade 2 students were so excited to have us in their rooms; they followed us everywhere, proudly showing us their favourite parts of the playground and even “adopting” us for the day. Some of us joked that it felt like we suddenly had twenty little brothers and sisters!
We joined in on specialist lessons, helped out with tennis, and even took charge of the Zooper Dooper sales at lunchtime. There were some hilarious moments too: like when a grade 1 student told us they were better at tennis than we are (they definitely weren’t!), or when the year 2s challenged Gus to a basketball game, claiming they could beat him by 100 points. Walking past the basketball courts, we couldn’t help but laugh at how small the rings now seemed; being able to dunk and actually land a layup was pretty satisfying.
We also noticed how much the campus has changed since our time there. New buildings have popped up, some classrooms look completely different, and colourful artwork now brightens the asphalt near the office. Despite these changes, the spirit of the place remained the same; warm, welcoming, and full of energy.
What stood out the most was the kindness and enthusiasm of the younger students. They welcomed us straight away, made us feel special, and even gave us little drawings and pictures to remember them by. It was heart-warming to feel appreciated and to know that our visit meant so much to them. We left feeling proud, responsible, and inspired by the connection we built in such a short time.
It truly was a wonderful experience, and we’d love to go back again before the end of the year. We’ll definitely be sharing our excitement with 6A and 6C, who will be visiting Arrowsmith in the coming weeks. We can’t wait to tell them just how amazing it is to return to where it all began.
