Dear Families,
A big well done to our senior students who ran a powerful awareness-raising day today at the senior campus! Their hard work paid off: they invited a guest speaker from Victoria Police, Rose, to talk about bullying, and organised a cookie sale to fundraise for an anti-bullying program for younger students in 2026.
Thanks to their initiative and dedication, the event was a wonderful success — and their fundraising will make a real difference in supporting our school community. We’re incredibly proud of the leadership, empathy, and school spirit they demonstrated today.
Step Up Day Tuesday 9th December
It is hard to believe that our students will be ‘Stepping Up’ to their 2026 classes very soon to meet their new teacher and classmates. More information will follow closer to the date with an overview of the program for the day.
Responsible Pet Ownership F-2 - Monday
Our Junior campus students will have a visit from Nicky to learn more about what it takes to be a responsible pet owner. All the students will have the opportunity to meet our special doggy guest on the day.
Christmas Performance
Our choir and dance students will be off to Kilmore Aged Care next Wednesday to showcase a performance they have been practising. Looking forward to seeing many photos being shared in next week’s newsletter.
End of Semester Reports
Our teachers are into the busy part of the term with report writing. All reports will be live on Compass for families to access in the last week of the term.
Last Campus Assemblies for the Year!
We have our last assemblies for the term (and year) coming up next Monday at 9:10am at Ambrosia campus and 2:40pm at the Arrowsmith campus. Looking forward to seeing you all there.
Take care,
Christine Cole

(Early) Merry Christmas from the Beveridge PS P&F Committee!
On Tuesday 9th December we have our step up/transition day. This means all students will spend the day in their 2026 year level.
All grade 6 students attending a public secondary school in 2026, will attend their secondary school they have enrolled in. This is a statewide transition day for all public secondary schools. Grade 6 students attending a private secondary school in 2026 are still required to attend school on Tuesday as normal.
All 2025 grade 1 and 2 students will spend the day at the Ambrosia Way Campus to transition for 2026 grade 2 and 3. This means that all 2025 grade 1 and 2 students need to be dropped off at Ambrosia Way for a 9am start and picked up at 3.30pm (end of school day).
Please remember that if using Team Kids for a grade 1 or 2 student on this day, you need to book with Team Kids at Ambrosia Way.

How to support your child under 16 with the new social media age restrictions
From 10 December 2025, the Online Safety Amendment (Social Media Minimum Age) Act 2024 will require social media platforms to:
Delaying access to social media protects the health and wellbeing of young people and gives them extra time to build real world connections and digital literacy skills.
The responsibility will be on the social media platforms, not parents, carers, children or schools, to implement these new restrictions.
Most popular social media platforms will be age restricted. These include Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, X (formerly Twitter), Reddit and YouTube.
Messaging services and online games, as well as apps and platforms that support health and education, can still be used.
Parents and carers play an important role in supporting their children to be safe online.
To help get under 16s ready for the social media minimum age requirements, you can go to the eSafety website to learn more about the social media age restrictions and find tips on how to talk about social media age restrictions with young people.
At our school, all age-restricted social media platforms are blocked for student use on the school network.
To keep up to date about the new social media age restrictions, visit the eSafety website and subscribe to their newsletter.
The Department of Education is providing free swim teacher training for interested parents and carers from our school.
The course is fully funded and qualifies you to teach swimming with your local school, or Australia wide.
There are a range of locations and dates available. Book your place today – limited spots available.
About the initiative
The Victorian Department of Education is supporting school teachers, parent and carer volunteers and trainee teachers to become swim teachers.
A shortage of available swimming instructors is making it difficult for some schools to deliver the swimming and water safety curriculum required in the Victorian Curriculum F–10.
This program will make it easier for schools to deliver swimming lessons for students in need.
Teachers and parents or carers in eligible areas who have been invited to participate in the program by their school can use the information on this page to register with a training provider.
Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety
The course being offered is the Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety (TSW - SISSS00132).
This course contains units of competency that are nationally recognised from the Sport, Fitness and Recreation training package.
Upon successful completion of all assessment requirements, candidates will be issued a Statement of Attainment for the following units of competency:
Choosing a course
The course is being delivered on behalf of the department by Life Saving Victoria, Swim Coaches and Teachers Australia and AUSTSWIM.
Each course offers the same curriculum and units of competency, but are delivered in slightly different ways.
