Term 4 - Week 9

Principal's Message

Dear Families,

Well done to all our choir students from both campuses who recently visited the Kimore Aged Care facility — what a joy it was to witness their singing, performances and lively Irish dancing. Heartfelt thanks to Ms Rosenhain and Mrs Faragalla for organising this special outing and giving our students the chance to bring music and cheer to the community.

‘Step Up Day’ for all students on Tuesday 9th December

Next Tuesday, all students will be experiencing the day in their 2026 year level. This will be an opportunity for students to meet their new grade level teachers and be in their new classes. We have some new teachers joining us in 2026, who will not be present for the day, due to commitments at their current schools. All students will receive a letter on Thursday 11th outlining their 2026 class and teacher.

Please note: All current grade 1 & 2 students will spend the day at the Ambrosia campus in preparation for 2026.

Grade 6 Graduation & Upcoming Events

It is almost time to say goodbye to our grade 6 students from primary school. Next Thursday evening (11th Dec) we will be holding the graduation ceremony in our school gym. On Tuesday 9th, students will get to spend the day at their 2026 secondary school and participate in a year 7 orientation program. Thursday 18th will be the annual grade 6 excursion to Fun Fields. Lots of time for our students to celebrate togetherness in their last week of school together.

Final Curriculum Day

Next Friday (Dec 12th) we have our final curriculum day for the year. Staff will be busy preparing for 2026.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Take care,

Christine Cole

Irish Dancing

In Irish dancing, students auditioned to take part. 34 kids auditioned. 25 students dropped out or forgot to come, making them fall behind. That left 9 students who showed up every practice that we did. The 9 students learnt a dance to perform. These 9 students were Jeslyn, Mercedes, Ehana, Shanaya, Avleen, Riaz, Jasmine, Hayley and Lylah. These are the steps we learnt in Irish dancing: Hop 123s, cuts, point hop back, step close, and over 2,3s. Irish dancing helped teach these students something new. These 9 students are performed in the staff room, at assembly and at an elderly age care centre! The students in Irish dancing enjoy coming and learning new things! Ms Rosenhain helped all of the students that auditioned learn.

Native Garden at Ambrosia

The Planeteers and Koorie Ambassadors have created a beautiful new native garden in the previously empty garden bed near the front gate at the Ambrosia campus. Our student leaders researched a range of native plants that would both suit the space and thrive in local conditions.

After selecting a variety of hardy, colourful species, the students carefully planned the layout—making sure each plant had enough room to grow and flourish. They then worked together to prepare the soil and position the plants thoughtfully throughout the bed.

We hope this small native garden not only brightens the entryway to our Ambrosia campus but also adds a welcoming burst of colour and a connection to Country for everyone who visits.
