Our Graduation ceremony is taking place tonight! This is such a memorable and special event for all students and families involved. I wish them all the best for their next adventure into high school. Looking forward to celebrating with you all tonight.

Step Up Day

All our students enjoyed the opportunity to ‘Step Up’ to their 2026 year level on Tuesday to meet their new classmates and teachers. Students will be bringing home a letter today advising of their 2026 class and teacher.

Final Week

As we move into the last week of school for the year, these days will be dedicated to packing up, cleaning up and craft activities. We would love to see students getting into the festive spirit and wearing their best Christmas t-shirts and accessories from Wednesday - Friday. You may have noticed the staff members in their Christmas gear of late!

School Council

Our final meeting for the year took place early this week. I would like to thank all our School Council members for their commitment and contribution throughout the year. Any parents/carers interested in joining the School Council in 2026 are encouraged to get in contact with myself or the Office.

MAT Program

This term, some of our Grade 5 students participated in a special martial arts program designed to build resilience, teamwork, and physical fitness.

Throughout the sessions, students learned basic martial arts techniques, practiced self-discipline, and developed confidence in their abilities. The instructors emphasized perseverance, encouraging students to push through challenges and support one another.

The program concluded with a thrilling final activity where students used their newly learned techniques to break through a practice tile—a moment that highlighted their growth, focus, and determination.

African Drumming Program - A Fantastic Term of Learning!

This term, our African Drumming Program has been an absolute highlight at BPS.
We were fortunate to run sessions across both our Arrowsmith and Ambrosia campuses, giving some of our students the opportunity to experience the rhythm, teamwork and joyful energy that drumming brings.
The growth in confidence, coordination and musical understanding has been wonderful to see, and we are incredibly proud of the progress our students have made.
Thank you to Odai, our fabulous drumming teacher for sharing his incredible talent, patience, and passion with our students.

Whittlesea Christmas Festival

Asthma

Summer holidays are an important time for kids with asthma.

During all the festivities, please don’t forget to keep up your child's asthma management and medicine as prescribed. Good asthma management over the holidays means less time off school when kids return in the new year, and less time off work for you.

To make sure your child stays as healthy as possible over the break and into 2026, you can take the following steps:

  • Check your child’s medicine(s) to make sure they’re still in date.
  • Keep using your child’s preventer medicine as directed over the summer holidays, even if they’re feeling well.
  • If you’re leaving the house or going on holiday, make sure you pack your child’s asthma medicine(s) and a spacer.
  • Book an Asthma Review with your doctor to get an updated written Asthma Action Plan during the holidays - you'll need this for Term 1 2026. Book in early as doctors can have limited appointments over the Christmas period.
  • Use Asthma Australia's School’s Checklist for parents and carers: https://asthma.org.au/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/AA_BTS2022_Asthma-Checklist__digital.pdf
To stay on top of your child’s asthma management, complete the Asthma Control Test for kids and get their asthma score here: https://asthma.org.au/asthma-control/
