Classrooms are buzzing with curiosity, playtimes are full of fun and games, and our senior students are doing a fantastic job being positive role models for our younger learners. We’re off to a great start and looking forward to another exciting week ahead!

Foundation 1– Settling In
The Foundation 1 students have had a wonderful start to the year and are settling beautifully into the routines and structure of school. We’ve been spending time getting to know our new surroundings, building confidence as we move around the school and learning what a day in Foundation looks like.
In the classroom, students are working on recognising and writing their own names, developing correct pencil grip, and becoming familiar with our daily whiteboard routines. We have also begun exploring number recognition and counting, including counting the days of school and noticing how numbers are all around us.
It has been lovely to see students growing in independence, confidence and enthusiasm each day. We’re so proud of the way they are embracing school life and giving new things a go!
— The Foundation 1 Team
The Great Grade 2’s have had a fantastic start to Term 1 2026. The students have transitioned smoothly into the Ambrosia Campus and have enjoyed getting to know their new teachers and classroom routines.
Over the last 2 weeks students have had fun exploring the new school grounds and having lots of fun on their junior school oval. The students have also loved going on the playground and the awesome climbing frame.
The Grade 2 students and teachers love being in their brand new portables and settling into their new classrooms. Each classroom has been designed to ensure students feel welcome, safe and comfortable.
Learning has commenced and students have been eager to get back into their learning. The Grade 2’s have enjoyed participating in our new explicit maths program where they are accessing evidence-based learning.
The Grade 2 teachers are very proud of all our students, and we are looking forward to a fabulous year together.
The Grade 6 cohort settled in well and quickly reestablished classroom routines, making a positive and focused start to the year.
English learning started with a novel study on Emily Rodda’s ‘His Name Was Walter’. There has been a strong focus on summarising key ideas into a single sentence and strengthening writing by combining ideas using subordinating conjunctions.
Mathematics focused on decimals and measurement, including interpreting, comparing and ordering numbers with more than two decimal places, as well as converting between common metric units of length, mass and capacity.
Inquiry learning began with an exploration of the Federation of Australia, examining why the colonies federated, the impacts of Federation, and how it shaped Australia as a nation.
We have loved seeing students enjoying their Grade 6 shirts and jumpers. Please remember to label all items clearly to help avoid them being misplaced.
Looking forward to the year ahead,
The Grade 6 Team - Mr Rai, Ms Tutagalevao, Mr Swanson, Ms Mahoney, Ms Giuliano and Mr Kimpton
Wednesdays – No School for Foundation (First 5 Weeks)
Please note that there will be no school for Foundation students on Wednesdays for the first five weeks of Term 1. This time allows teachers to complete individual assessments and plan effectively for each child. Foundation students will attend school on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays during this period.
Foundation Assessments
Over the coming weeks, Foundation assessments will take place. These assessments help us get to know your child and support their learning throughout the year. Please ensure you book in for your child’s assessment time if you have not already done so. These sessions are one hour in length and are designed for your child to be one-on-one with their teacher. Please drop your child directly to their classroom at their assigned starting time. You are welcome to leave the school grounds, visit the staff room or wait outside your child’s classroom while testing takes place. Please ensure you return promptly at the end of your booked session.
School Hours
A reminder that school hours are 8:45am–3:15pm.
School gates open at 8:30am each morning. Students will line up in a similar position to where their orientation line was. There will be signs with teacher names for the first week.
Daily Essentials
Please ensure your child comes to school each day with:
Thank you for your continued support as we begin the year. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with your classroom teacher.
Kind regards,
The Foundation Team
