Dear Families,
Congratulations to two of our Grade 6 students, Jayden Jones and Nyah Likos, who ran in the regional cross country event on Wednesday. An outstanding effort!
End of Term Campus Assemblies
Earlier this week, we held our final campus assemblies for the term. These assemblies provide a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the achievements, effort and growth of our students throughout the term.
Congratulations to all students who received awards recognising their learning, leadership, and demonstration of our school values. It was fantastic to see so many students acknowledged for their hard work and positive contributions to our school community.
We also announced our winning House for the term. Congratulations to all students for their enthusiasm and participation in earning House points throughout the term. We look forward to another exciting term of friendly competition when we return next term.
End of Semester Reports
Our teachers are currently finalising the mid-year student Reports and these will be available to parents/carers via Compass mid next week. You will receive a notification when these are ready to access. You will have the opportunity to meet and discuss with your child’s classroom teacher next term on Wednesday 22nd July during Parent/Teacher Conferences.
Student Fundraiser – PJ Day
Next Wednesday, students are invited to take part in our PJ Day Out of Uniform Day. Students can come to school dressed in their favourite pyjamas and enjoy a fun day of learning with their classmates.
As part of the fundraiser, we ask students to bring along a gold coin donation, with all funds raised going towards supporting school initiatives and opportunities for our students.
We look forward to seeing everyone dressed in their cosiest pyjamas while supporting this great cause!
A reminder that the last day of term, next Friday 26th June, we have an early finish at both campuses. Arrowsmith 2:15pm and Ambrosia at 2:30pm.
Stay warm and well over the weekend.

Grade 1: Newsletter Week 9 Term 2
Maths
This week in Maths, Year 1 students have been learning about data and how to organise information. They have been practising recording information using tally marks and then using that data to create picture graphs. Students have also been exploring different ways to collect and record data using objects, images and drawings to represent information.
English
This week, Year 1 students have been learning how to write their own narratives using a clear beginning, middle and end structure. They have also been exploring the different ways to spell the /oo/ sound, discovering that one sound can be written in multiple ways. Students have been working on building sentences, starting with simple short sentences and then making them longer and more interesting by adding nouns, adjectives and verbs.
Inquiry
This week, Year 1 students enjoyed an incursion about light and sound. They discovered that we need light to see and that our eyes detect light while our ears detect sound. They explored how sound travels through different materials, learning that light can travel through space but sound cannot. Students also investigated transparent, translucent and opaque materials. They saw how white light splits into a rainbow through a prism.
As we approach the end of another fantastic term, our Grade 4 students have been busy consolidating their learning and reflecting on the many skills and concepts they have developed throughout the term.
In English, students have been exploring the structure and features of information reports. Using The Great Dividing Range as our mentor text, students have identified key features such as introductions, subheadings, factual information, and conclusions. Students have now begun researching and creating their own information reports on mountains, rivers, and deserts. It has been wonderful to see students applying their research skills and organising information into well-structured reports.
This term, students have been developing their understanding of multiplication and division through a range of problem-solving activities and investigations. They have explored arrays to represent multiplication facts and strengthen their understanding of groups and equal sharing.
In Measurement, students have investigated length, perimeter, and area. They have practised measuring using appropriate units and have learned how to calculate the perimeter and area of various shapes. Students have enjoyed applying these skills to real-world scenarios and hands-on activities.
Inquiry – Geography
In Geography, students have been exploring Australia's diverse climates, population distribution, and connections to other places around the world. They have learned about Australia's different climate zones, including tropical, arid, and temperate regions, and investigated how climate influences where people live and the activities they participate in.
Students have also examined Australia's population density and compared it to other countries around the world. Through discussions and mapping activities, students explored how countries and people are connected through migration, trade, travel, and communication. One highlight was investigating our own class connections to different places around Australia and the world.
Throughout the term, students have been participating in lessons focused on Positive Coping. Students have explored a variety of strategies to help them manage emotions, respond to challenges, and maintain a positive mindset when things become difficult. Through discussions, activities, and reflection, students have continued to build their understanding of resilience and the importance of using positive coping strategies both inside and outside the classroom.
As we head into the final week of term, we would like to congratulate all Grade 4 students on their hard work, perseverance, and growth. We are incredibly proud of the effort students have shown across all areas of learning and look forward to celebrating a successful end to the term together.
Thank you for your continued support. The Grade 4 Team
Grade One Hockey Clinic Term 2 Week 9
Grade One classes had a fantastic time at their hockey clinic! Students were excited to learn new skills, work together as a team, and grow their confidence. The clinic was filled with energy, laughter, and plenty of fun as everyone participated in the activities and games.
It was wonderful to watch the students try new challenges and support one another throughout the experience. We would also like to thank the instructors for providing such a fun and positive learning opportunity for our students.
Families interested in continuing hockey opportunities are encouraged to keep an eye on future newsletters for information about local out-of-school hockey lessons and programs in the area.
