Dear Families,
I hope everyone has enjoyed their first week back at school after a much deserved two week break. I would also like to extend a warm welcome to new families who have joined Beveridge PS this term. We have a wonderfully busy term 3 organised, jam packed with a number of incursions, excursions, sports days, Chess program, Book Week and not to mention our Mary Poppins production!
Baby Announcements!
Congratulations to Ms Amanda Salem and her husband on the birth of their baby girl Sophie.
Congratulations to Ms Amitpal Kaur and her family on the birth of their baby boy Angad.
We are all looking forward to meeting the newest members of the Beveridge PS family soon.
NAIDOC Week
This week we have also been acknowledging and celebrating NAIDOC week. This year's NAIDOC theme 'Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud and Proud', has been an opportunity for our students to learn more about the rich Aboriginal history and culture of Australia through picture books, learning activities and videos.
Staffing Update
Mr Luke Deards has taken over as PE teacher whilst Ms Effie Leisos is on long service leave for the whole of the term. Ms Sonya Webb is also on long service leave for the first six weeks. Ms Leah Dusenjko will take over the teaching of 4/5B during this time.
Parent/Teacher Interviews
Will be taking place for all students at both the Arrowsmith and Ambrosia campuses next Wednesday 24th July, from 11am - 7pm. This will be an opportunity for you to book a 15 minute conference with your child’s classroom teacher to discuss your child’s learning progress and mid-year report. This will be a pupil free day, however we encourage you to also bring your child with you to the conference. Bookings can be made through Compass.
Yours sincerely,
Christine Cole

In an exhilarating netball showdown between Teachers and Students, last term, spectators witnessed a thrilling match filled with twists and turns. The Teachers initially took the lead with a score of 4-2 in the first quarter, showcasing strong defense and accurate shooting. However, the Students mounted a comeback in the second quarter, closing the gap to 6-5 with agile movement and precise passing.
The pivotal third quarter saw the Students fiercely leveling the score to 8-8, setting the stage for a fiercely contested final quarter. Despite the Teachers briefly pulling ahead 9-8 late in the third, the Students opened the scoring to tie it up at 9-9 to start the fourth. Then Teachers pushed ahead however, a scoreboard error increased the gap.
In the dramatic final minutes, both teams gave their all, with the Teachers maintaining a slim lead and executing crucial plays. The Students staged a strong comeback effort, resulting in a dramatic final score of 14-13 in favor of the Teachers upon score correction.
Overall, the match showcased the competitive spirit and skill of both teams, leaving the audience and players exhilarated by the intense battle on the court. While the Teachers secured the victory, the real triumph was the thrilling display of netball prowess witnessed by all.
