Term 3 - Week 3

Principal Report

Dear Families,

Congratulations to our Grade 6 mixed Netball team who competed at the Division level of the competition on Wednesday at Diamond Valley. 3 Wins and 1 loss, coming in 2nd place overall. Thank you to the parents who also attended and helped to transport students to the venue.

100 Days at School

This week our Foundation students have celebrated their 100 days at school! Congratulations to all students! Lots of wonderful dress ups by our students, and their teachers. Thank you to all families who were able to attend the parade.

State Principals Conference - Leading Together

On Monday of this week myself, Ms Menelaou and Mr McMurray, had the opportunity to attend the Government Schools Principal Conference at the Convention Centre in the city. This was a day whereby principals from across Victoria come together to hear from renowned educators and leading practitioners, and discover new ways of thinking about leadership excellence. I definitely left the conference feeling more energised and thankful to be principal at Beveridge PS.

Book Week Aug 19th - 23rd

I am very much looking forward to our whole school activity and dress up day at the Ambrosia campus on Wednesday 21st Aug during Book Week. The theme for this year is ‘Reading is Magic!’ Good luck in creating your costumes!

Division Netball - Grade 6

Following our Boys/Mixed netball teams’ success at the District Netball early in term two, moving through the competition as undefeated champions, the Grade 6 students have been putting in a great effort to train and try out for the team. A shout out to both Zoey W. and Shelby W. for putting their skills on display, narrowly missing out on a spot on the team, however consistently showing up to training to help prepare the selected students. On Wednesday I, along with Nat, had the absolute pleasure in taking our team of 12 to represent both the school and District at the Whittlesea Division Netball Championships. Our students were excellent models of all our school values and put up a hard fight during our four games. Through their amazing efforts we finished in second place, losing only to the team moving on to the regional championships. Thank you to the students for their efforts, sportsmanship and positive attitude. You should all be proud of your achievement! Finally, big thanks to Natalie and Bec for helping to transport the students, and their support throughout the day.

Mr Hamilton.

DIVISION NETBALL

On Wednesday some of the grade 6 boys and girls played in the Whittlesea division netball Competition at Diamond Valley Sports and Fitness Centre. We played well and came second out of 5 teams including Marymede, Thomas Town East, Hazel Glen, Northside cc and Beveridge. The first two game we won 10-4 then we lost 5-16 and in the last game we won 12-8. The team players were Ace.W, Benjamin.S,  Jaxon.G, Yuvraj.S, Nullah.L, Fungai.C, Archie.M, Lily.S, Ella.G, Abby.W, Mackenzie.F, Lani.M. Thanks to Mr Hamilton, Natalie and Bec we got there with no problem.

2024 Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey

WE WANT OUR PARENTS / CAREGIVERS / GUARDIANS TO TELL US WHAT THEY THINK!

Our school is conducting a survey to find out what parents / caregivers / guardians think of our school. The Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey is an annual survey offered by the Department of Education that is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behavior, and student engagement. The survey is optional but we encourage all families to participate. Our school will use the survey results to help inform and direct future school planning and improvement strategies. All families are invited to participate in the survey.

The Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey will be open from Monday 29 July to Friday 30 August 2024.

The survey will be conducted online, only takes 20 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time within the survey period on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones. The online survey will be available in English and 10 other languages including Arabic, Greek, Hakha Chin, Hindi, Japanese, Punjabi, Simplified Chinese, Somali, Turkish, and Vietnamese.

To complete this survey, please refer to the communication that went out on Compass on Tuesday 30 July or contact the office.
