Dear Families,
It has been great to see our families at our campuses last week and this week for our Meet & Greet sessions with classroom teachers. I hope everyone was able to visit the Book Fair and purchase some new reading material.
Thank you to those parents/guardians who attended our volunteers induction session earlier in the week. We love having our school community members volunteer their time in the classrooms helping and supporting our students. The next induction session will be held on Monday 3rd March at 4pm. Please contact the Office if you would like to attend.
Student Leadership
Congratulations to all students, across both campuses, who have taken on the role as a student leader for 2025. We are looking forward to seeing you all step up and be leaders amongst your peers. All students will be presented with their badges at the campus assemblies in week 6.
Bike Ed Program Training
Next week, members of our staff (including myself) will be participating in training for the Bike Ed program, on the senior campus. This training will equip our team with the skills and knowledge needed to deliver a fun and educational bike program for our Grade 6 students later this year (and further year levels in 2026).
We’re excited about this opportunity to promote cycling safety and skills within our school community. The program will provide students with essential bike handling skills, road safety knowledge, and the confidence to ride safely and independently.
Emergency Procedures - Lockdown Drill
Each term the school undertakes emergency procedures to make sure all staff and students are aware of what to do in the event of an emergency. Next Friday, February 28th both campuses will practice a Lockdown emergency drill prior to lunch time. This practice drill aligns with our school focus on safety.
Yours sincerely,
Christine Cole
The once peaceful town of Beveridge is now facing a pressing issue—traffic congestion! With more developers, residents and visitors, the roads around Beveridge are becoming increasingly congested, especially during peak hours. This has led to long delays, stressful commutes, and frustration for all community members.
Residents are encouraged to bring attention to this issue by writing to the Mitchell Shire Council, as well as Members of Parliament. Your voice matters in helping to address the traffic congestion and find solutions that will improve the daily lives of all in Beveridge.
The school will continue to advocate for upgrades and changes and will be meeting with representatives from Mitchell Shire Council to discuss the traffic issue and ongoing concerns.
Let’s work together to create a more connected and livable community!
I encourage our school community feel free to make contact with the following people to voice your concerns and advocate for change.

On Friday the 7th of February, BPS students went to Mandalay Club for our school swimming carnival. All students attended and competed for their house colour. Students were given the choice to race or complete a lap in the participation lane for house points.
We are very grateful for all the students who entered the pool, participated and displayed resilience during the event. Thank you to all students for being so supportive and respectful to each other.
There were many highlights, and we were very excited to see so many fast swimmers. Thank you to the parents who attended, the teachers for organising the event and making sure everything ran smoothly.
A special mention for Warrin (YELLOW) house for the best use of their new name! The winning house for the school swimming carnival was Marram (RED) house. Well done Marram for being both the loudest and the winning house.
We had a number of records broken including the K twins being the first to contest the 8/9/10 Boys Butterfly with Owen K. taking the win, and Ivy A. breaking three records and recording our fastest backstroke time for the day despite being only 8 years old! A huge effort.
Our fastest students have been selected to represent our school at the Mitchell District Swimming Carnival on the 21st Feb. The event will see all of the fastest swimmers from across our district compete to earn their place at the division carnival later in the term.
