Dear Families,
Did you know that we have 723 students and 85 staff members at Beveridge PS who come from more than 20 different countries and can speak 36 different languages?! Tomorrow we will be celebrating Harmony Day, whereby we celebrate our community diversity and multiculturalism throughout Australia. Looking forward to seeing students wearing cultural dress or splash of orange throughout the campuses and enjoying our community picnic at the Ambrosia campus from 5-6pm.
Campus Assemblies - Monday
Looking forward to our third and final campus assemblies for the term taking place on Monday. We have some of our Foundation & Grade 4 students presenting. Assemblies take place at the following times: Ambrosia campus 9:10am and Arrowsmith campus 2:40pm.
Cyber-Safety Parent/Guardian Seminar Tues 6-7:30pm
I strongly encourage parents and guardians (no students allowed due to topics discussed) to attend this parent seminar as it is extremely informative of how to best teach and support your child in the digital age. Please note that this is a repeat of the seminar held in term 3 of 2024. To register, please refer to the Compass message that went out earlier this week.
Over the next two weeks the students will also be involved in a cyber-safety incursion, titled ‘Being Brave’, to support the students learning from digital technology lessons this term.
NAPLAN Assessments
Our grade 3 and 5 students have been amazing at completing their NAPLAN assessments. Well done! And, we are now just catching up with individual students who may have been absent. A special thank you to all the Grade 3&5 teachers, who have led the organisation and delivery of the assessments.
Yours sincerely,
Christine Cole
Our school leaders are continuing to advocate for upgrades and changes to our campuses to reduce the traffic congestion, upgrading the unsafe roads and footpaths and the school facilities.
On Tuesday of this week you may have noticed additional people at the Junior Campus wearing hi-vis vests observing during morning drop off and afternoon pick up. These representatives, from Mitchell Shire Council, were able to see first hand what the daily frustration is of all staff and families. The representatives also met with the principal to further discuss the issues and suggest solutions.
We will continue to keep our school community informed of steps that are being taken to see change happen.
In the meantime, don’t forget that you can help us by bringing further attention to this issue by writing to the Mitchell Shire Council, as well as Members of Parliament. Your voice matters in helping to address the traffic congestion and find solutions that will improve the daily lives of all in Beveridge.
I encourage our school community to make contact with the following people to voice your concerns and advocate for change.
A list of who you can send an email/letter to:
Jacinta Allan Victorian Premier : jacinta.allan@parliament.vic.gov.au
Kalkallo Electorate (including Beveridge) MP Ros Spence ros.spence@parliament.vic.gov.au
Ben Carroll Minister for Education: ben.carroll@parliament.vic.gov.au
Gabrielle Willaims Minister for Transport: gabrielle.williams@parliament.vic.gov.au
Mitchell Shire Council: mitchell@mitchellshire.vic.gov.au
Student certificates will be given each week on a Friday in their classroom.

On Friday March 28th (at the Senior campus) and Monday March 31st 2025 (at the Junior Campus), Brainstorm Productions will be presenting their student wellbeing performance ‘Being Brave’. ‘Being Brave’ is a live educational theatre performance that gives students positive strategies to cope with emotions and deal with bullying, change, loss and other challenges.
Fly is a young boy whose parents have separated. He misses his dad desperately and tries to be brave by keeping his emotions ‘bottled up’. He meets Isha, who has been forced to come to a new country. Celia is coming to terms with loss in her family. Mrs Russo wants to connect safely with her family online, Tim is being bullied and Billie needs to face her fears. By connecting with the people in his community, Fly discovers the true meaning of being brave: sharing stories, showing feelings, keeping good memories and living life. ‘Being Brave’ is part of our student wellbeing curriculum and has been developed by teachers and psychologists. This engaging live performance addresses student wellbeing issues with sensitivity and provides students with practical skills for resilience, help-seeking and positive connections.
Brainstorm Productions is one of Australia’s most experienced and respected theatre in education companies, performing to over 260,000 students every year. They offer a range of programs to help schools nurture healthy and harmonious environments and are endorsed by the eSafety Commissioner as a Trusted eSafety Provider. Learn more about Brainstorm Productions by visiting their website (brainstormproductions.edu.au), or following them on Instagram (@brainstormproductions_), Facebook (@Brainstorm.Productions).
Our student leadership teams have decided to hold an out of uniform day at both campuses on Wednesday the 2nd April. All students, and staff, are encouraged to bring a gold coin/donation and wear casual clothes, raising money for the Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation.
The Good Friday Appeal is the major public appeal for the hospital, bringing together people from across the community to raise funds for the Royal Children’s Hospital. The students have chosen to raise money to help support these efforts and encourage everyone to dig deep as all funds donated are used to support clinical excellence at the RCH.
On March 14, 2025, we celebrated 5D Glasses Day, a special initiative to promote an inclusive and supportive environment for children who wear glasses.
By having everyone wear fun, themed glasses for the day, we helped normalize eyewear and foster a sense of belonging among students. The event encouraged conversations about vision care, boosted confidence for those who wear glasses daily, and created a safe space where everyone could feel included.
It was a simple yet powerful way to celebrate diversity and remind students that being different is something to be embraced!
On Tuesday 25th March at 6pm, Beveridge Primary School will be running a Cyber-Safety Seminar for all parents/carers to attend. We ask all families to attend this very important seminar /presentation run by the Australia Federal Police and ThinkUKnow Australia.
ThinkUKnow Australia provides a balanced perspective of technology, providing information on both its benefits and its challenges.
Topics included within the presentation are specifically aimed at educating and increasing awareness about online child sexual exploitation including avoiding inappropriate contact, online grooming, self-generated content, sexual extortion and how to get help.
As parents and carers, you play an important role in protecting your child from harm. This presentation aims to support you in preventing and managing safety challenges that your child may face, as well as guiding your child to understand these and feel empowered to take action.
The presentation is for parents/careers, and not suitable for children due to the nature of the topics discussed.
The presentation will generally run for 60 minutes, however we recommend allowing an extra 30 minutes for questions and further discussion.
Location: Ambrosia Staffroom
Please RSVP via this link by Friday 21st March.
We hope to see all parents/carers at the seminar.
