Principal's Message

Dear Families,

Thank you to our P&F committee for hosting the Mother’s Day stalls last week. And, CONGRATULATIONS to all our prize winners of the raffle. So many wonderful gifts were donated for the hampers.

Tomorrow we also acknowledge and celebrate Education Support Staff Day! Our Admin and classroom support staff and key personnel in making sure each and every child is supported at our school.

Staff Professional Development: Enhancing Teaching Practices

Our dedicated staff have recently participated in several professional development programs to enhance their teaching practices and better support our students.

Compass Training

Members of our leadership team engaged in comprehensive training with Compass Education, focusing on effective use of the school's management software. The program included modules on attendance tracking, reporting, and communication tools, ensuring staff are proficient in utilising the system to its full potential.

Mathematics Learning with Consultant James Dobson

Our teachers collaborated with consultant James Dobson to refine instructional strategies. James, known for his expertise in explicit teaching and Direct Instruction, provided insights into effective numeracy instruction. His approach emphasises structured lessons and targeted interventions, aiming to improve student outcomes in mathematics.

Berry Street Education Model Training

We have selected teachers participating in the Berry Street Education Model (BSEM) training, focusing on trauma-informed teaching strategies. The BSEM framework offers practical tools to support students' emotional and behavioral needs, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. This training aligns with our commitment to holistic student development and well-being.

These professional development opportunities reflect our ongoing commitment to providing high-quality education and support to our students.

Yours sincerely,

Christine Cole

Foundation Enrolments 2026

Foundation Enrolments 2026

Beveridge PS is now taking enrolments for Foundation (Prep) 2026!

Starting primary school is an exciting time for children, parents and carers. To start Foundation (Prep) in 2026, your child will need to turn 5 years old by 30 April 2026. School is compulsory for children who have turned 6 years old.

Steps to enrol your child for the 2026 school year

If your child is starting Foundation (Prep) in 2026, you will be able to apply for enrolment at a Victorian government primary school from the start of Term 2, 2025 (Tuesday 22 April 2025).

What you need to do:

  1. Visit Find my School to find your designated neighbourhood school (referred to as your local school) for 2026 and other nearby government schools.
  2. Contact a government primary school to book a school tour and learn more about the school and the enrolment application process.
  3. Download the Foundation (Prep) Enrolment Information Pack for Parents and Carers (PDF, 308KB). This pack includes an application form. The school may also provide you with a copy of the form to complete or advise if they are using online enrolment.
  4. Submit your enrolment application to the school by Friday 25 July 2025.
  5. You will be notified of the outcome of your application between Monday 28 July and Friday 8 August 2025. The letter from the school will include the next steps. If you receive an enrolment offer, you should respond to the offer by Friday 22 August 2025.

Enrolment applications submitted after 25 July 2025 will be processed by the school as they are received.

Your child has a right to enrol at their local school. Your child’s local school is determined by their permanent residential address. The enrolling in a school page can help you to confirm your child’s address for enrolment.
