Term 2 - Week 10

Principal's Message

Dear Families,

This week the Grade 2 students headed to Splash Aqua Park in Craigieburn for their swimming program. What a fantastic start to the program! The students are having a fantastic time learning to swim. They have had to be very efficient and independent in getting changed and ready for the lessons, and then ready again for the return back to school. Next week there are only swimming lessons Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Keep up the great work Grade 2!

Maths Learning with Mr James Dobson

On Wednesday, teachers from Ambrosia Campus had the opportunity to spend the day focusing on mathematics pedagogy with renowned consultant James Dobson. Known for his work in explicit instruction & the Science of Learning, James returned to our campus to team-teach, co-plan lessons, and support staff in strengthening their maths teacher instruction.

End of Semester Reports

Our teachers have finalised the mid-year student Reports and these will be available to parents/carers via Compass mid next week. You will receive a notification when these are ready to access. You will have the opportunity to meet and discuss with your child’s classroom teacher next term on Wednesday 30th July during Parent/Teacher Conferences.

As we move into the last week of Term 2 we have our school choir students heading off on the School of Rock concert excursion on Wednesday. We all hope you have a fabulous day.

A reminder that the last day of term, next Friday 4th July, we have an early finish at both campuses. Arrowsmith 2:15pm and Ambrosia at 2:30pm.

Stay warm and well over the weekend.

Your sincerely,

Christine Cole

School of Rock

Junior and Senior School Choirs Heading to the School of Rock Concert!

We are thrilled to announce that students from both our Junior and Senior School Choirs will be attending the School of Rock concert next week on Wednesday, July 2nd! This is an exciting opportunity for our talented students to be immersed in the world of musical performance and be inspired by a high-energy, professional production that celebrates the joy of music.

The event, held at Melrose Events, Tullamarine, features students from Prep to Year 12 performing in bands, choirs, dance groups, and more. The concert series aims to provide a platform for students to showcase their talents and passion for music, with over 1400 students participating from over 15 different schools.

Not only will students enjoy a dynamic live show, but this event also offers a fantastic chance for our school’s budding performers to see what’s possible when creativity, confidence, and teamwork come together on stage. We are incredibly proud to have our choir students representing our school at such a special event.

The Choirs will be preforming:

  1. Junior School Choir - I always wanted a brother from Mufasa movie
  2. Senior School Choir – Riptide by Vance Joy
  3. Both school Choirs together - Thick of it by KSI

Adding to the excitement, last week’s Dress Like a Rock Star fundraising day was a huge success! Thanks to the enthusiasm and generosity of our school community, we raised $578 in total, which will go directly towards covering the cost of the bus service for the excursion. A big thank you to all the students who rocked out in their fabulous costumes and helped make the day a hit!

We’re all counting down the days and can’t wait for our choir students to experience this memorable event next week. Let the countdown to School of Rock begin!

Parent Code of Conduct

At Beveridge PS, we are proud of the strong, respectful, and inclusive community we continue to build together. As a school community, we are guided by our school values: Respect, Excellence, Resilience andTogetherness.

We know that our children learn best when the adults around them lead by example, modelling empathy, patience, and respect.

Lately, there have been a few instances where interactions between parents and staff particularly those on duty or working in our busy front offices have not reflected the respectful behaviours we strive to uphold. While we understand that frustrations can arise from time to time, it is never acceptable to direct that frustration at our staff through aggression, yelling and disrespectful language. These actions impact not only staff wellbeing, but also the tone and culture we work so hard to cultivate for our students.

Our School Policy outlines expectations for all adult members of our school community. It reminds us that we are all role models. Whether at drop-off and pick up, during school events, or in a conversation with staff, each of us has a responsibility to show our children what respectful, constructive communication looks like, even when we disagree or are under pressure.

We ask that all parents and carers support our shared values by:

  • Speaking calmly and respectfully with all staff, including office staff and those on duty.
  • Using appropriate school channels to raise any concerns or questions.
  • Approaching issues with a spirit of partnership, not confrontation.
  • Remembering that staff are here to help and are doing their best in a large and school environment.

We are here to listen, support, and problem solve together. Our goal is always to work with you, for the benefit of your child.

Together, we can ensure Beveridge Primary School is a safe, respectful, and thriving learning environment for all.

Please see related policies on our website.
