On the 23rd of July, a team of Year Six students from Beveridge Primary School proudly represented their school at the Whittlesea Division AFL 9s Competition, held at Waterview Reserve in Mernda.
The event followed a round robin format, bringing together schools from across the region for a day of fast-paced, inclusive Australian Rules football. Throughout the day, the Beveridge team demonstrated outstanding commitment, teamwork, and sportsmanship. While they faced strong competition and were unable to secure a win, every student gave their best effort and played each match with enthusiasm and determination.
The event provided valuable opportunities for students to challenge themselves, develop their football skills, and represent their school with pride.
Their positive attitude and respectful conduct were noticed by staff and spectators alike, and they were excellent ambassadors for the Beveridge community. Beveridge Primary School sincerely thanks the event organisers, attending families, and staff for their support, and we look forward to building on this experience in future competitions.
For the first day of term on Monday, our staff from both campuses came together for a dynamic Curriculum & Professional Development Day centered on the Victorian Teaching and Learning Model (VTLM) 2.0.
The VTLM 2.0 builds on the original framework, placing a stronger emphasis on evidence-informed practice, student voice, and inclusive learning. Through a mix of workshops, group discussions, and hands-on activities, teachers examined how the updated model supports a more cohesive approach to curriculum planning, assessment, and classroom instruction.
One of the key takeaways from the day was how VTLM 2.0 encourages a shared language of learning across all year levels. The staff appreciated the opportunity to align their practices and plan intentionally for student growth.
We look forward to seeing the positive outcomes of this professional learning as teachers implement VTLM 2.0 into their everyday practice.
We invite you to book for Term 3 Parent Teacher Conferences.
These interviews will be held in your child's classroom and will take place on Wednesday the 30th of July between 11am - 7pm. This will be a student free day for all students. We encourage you to bring your child with you to the interview.
Bookings can be made under the Conferences tab in the Compass portal.

The program will focus on:
Bike Ed is a fantastic opportunity for students to develop lifelong skills while having fun and being active outdoors. Our trained staff are excited to guide students through a series of sessions that will progressively build their competence and confidence.
Being in our first year of implementation, we acknowledge that we are in need of some essential equipment to make this opportunity possible for ALL of our students.
In particular we are on the lookout for the following items to make this program possible.
We would love you to get in contact to discuss ways in which you may be able to support the program.
A reminder that your child's Academic Report is available to view on the Compass portal. You will find them on your child's profile under the 'Reports' tab.
If you have any issues accessing reports, please contact the office.
We have been advised of a case of head lice. We advise all parents to please check and comb through your child's hair.
Should you find any evidence of head lice activity in your child’s hair, please keep them from school until you have treated their hair and there are no live lice.
