During Term 4, Foundation students will continue developing their Auslan communication skills through the topics of transport, numbers and Christmas celebrations. Students will learn and practise signs for common forms of transport and use numbers 1–10 through engaging games, songs and hands-on activities. To finish the year, students will explore Christmas-themed Auslan vocabulary. These experiences will support students to build confidence, recall familiar signs and communicate meaningfully using Auslan. 

During Term 4, Grade 1 students will develop their Auslan skills through International Week of Deaf People, daily routines, numbers 1–20, and celebrations. Students will build confidence using Auslan to communicate about everyday activities, numbers and familiar celebrations including Halloween and Christmas, while developing awareness and respect for Deaf culture and community. 

During Term 4, Grade 2 students will build their Auslan communication skills through topics like places and community, directions and positions, revision and consolidation, and Christmas celebrations. Students will learn to describe familiar places, use directional and positional language, and follow and give simple directions in Auslan. They will consolidate previously learned vocabulary and sentence structures through interactive activities and games, before exploring Christmas signs and celebrations to finish the year.
